Restorative Reiki Yin Workshop

Every single one of us has the ability to heal ourselves. We dont need any special skills or years of training to assist ourselves in feeling better. With some simple and straightforward techniques, we can access our healing powers within.

Energy healing has been around for centuries and is one of the primary modalities in Eastern philosophy. Here in the West, we crave a quick fix. Life is too busy to be waiting around, we want to be pain-free and back to full health instantly. However, holistic therapies are on the rise, and modern society is tapping into their benefits. Treatments such as Reiki, Kinesiology, Acupuncture and Chakra Balancing, to name a few, works perfectly side by side with Western medicine practices. Both are safe to use together for optimum healing. Energy healing does not replace the vast knowledge of a medical doctor but works as a compliment.

Holistic therapies are used as a prevention rather than a cure and are considered slow medicine.Dont wait until you are broken or messy to have an energy session. Energy healing keeps us topped up to maintain our vibrant health. It is suggested to assist in releasing stagnant energy or deep-rooted emotions that may lead us to feel off kilter. When we feel balanced and calm, this may lead to less sickness or other health issues.

This October join me, Kat, for a unique offering of Restorative Reiki Yin. Combining the practice of Yin Yoga and the ancient healing art of Reiki to offer guests the opportunity to unlock the healer within.

I have been practising Reiki for over five years and teaching Reiki to others as a Master since 2014. Reiki is a part of my lifestyle, and I connect daily with its energy and teachings for my healing as well as for others. Reiki originates from Japan in around 1920 through Dr Usui who rediscovered the ancient healing techniques through his time studying and meditating on Mount Kurama.

Reiki translates as Rei (ray) – universal life force, the all-knowing and Ki (kee) – breath, life force and vital radiant energy. It is an intelligence of its own and will go to where it is needed the most. To tap into Reiki, all we need to do is be open to receive and allow the essence to flow through us like a channel. Reiki does not take over, control or dominate a person. The person channelling the energy is always in full control and can stop anytime. The vibration of Reiki is of pure love, and it can do no harm or be used to influence or manipulate.

Reiki flows like water through those who wish to connect, washing away any stale energetic debris creating space for fresh new Ki to replace the old. When we trust and let go of expectations or self-doubt, this allows for the energy to come through at its optimum.

For the Restorative Reiki Yin workshop, I will teach how to connect with the Reiki energy and how to stay grounded throughout the session. I will guide guests into more supported yoga shapes where they can settle into stillness without effort. Each shape will hone in on a particular Chinese medicine Element or Chakra as a focus for the Reiki.

While in the shapes guests are directed where to place their hands on different parts of the body and consciously call in the Reiki energy to flow. Holds will be longer than usual, up to eight minutes, allowing time for the energy to move and do its work. The focus will be on the flow of energy rather than the deep passive stretching with experience in regular Yin classes.

The techniques taught within the workshop can be used at any time and allows guests to take away the knowledge and skills for self-healing.

If you would like to experience Restorative Reiki Yin for yourself, please come along to the workshop on Saturday 20th October, 12:30 pm to 2:30 pm.
