Reflections on 10 Years of TSP EVP: A Journey of Passion and Growth

This morning, as I sit with my coffee on the eve of TSP EVP’s 10th birthday celebration, I can’t help but reflect on the incredible journey it’s been. Ten years. It feels surreal to look back on everything that’s happened since this all began.

My story with yoga started in 2009 when I stumbled upon Bikram Yoga. I fell in love with it instantly. The intense heat, the challenging poses, the mental grit it required—it was unlike anything I had ever experienced. Anyone who has braved a Bikram class will know exactly what I mean! This yoga was completely new to me, and back then, it was still a novelty for most of Perth too. By my second class, I had this undeniable feeling: I need to teach this. Not long after, the dream grew bigger—I wanted to run my own studio.

A Bikram class!

I juggled a full-time job while teaching yoga on the side for a few years, and eventually, Bikram Yoga Victoria Park was born. Back then, it offered just one style of yoga—90-minute Bikram classes. It was my life: teaching a couple of classes every day, practicing daily, and living and breathing yoga. Then in 2014, the opportunity came up to buy the studio, and I didn’t have to think twice.

With ownership came change. I knew we needed to evolve, so we started adding other yoga styles to the schedule, and eventually, Hot Pilates made its way in. That addition was a complete game-changer. We went from offering 16 classes a week to over 70, and from a small team of teachers to a powerhouse of more than 25 incredibly talented instructors. What started as a Bikram Yoga studio transformed into something bigger: a one-stop shop for Yoga and Pilates.

The Renovation!

Now, we offer Yin and Yang Yoga, Hot Pilates, and Reformer Pilates. Seeing our students embrace these changes has been so fulfilling. Our mission has always been the same: to ensure everyone who walks through our doors leaves feeling better than when they came in.

Although I don’t teach as often as I used to, I still love stepping into the studio, whether it’s to lead a class or practice alongside our amazing community.

Movement is a non-negotiable part of my everyday life. I feel incredibly lucky to share this passion with the people of Perth. TSP is my happy place, and my hope is that it’s the same for every student who joins us.

Over the last decade, we’ve grown, adapted, faced challenges, and celebrated milestones. It’s been exciting, stressful at times, but always rewarding. Looking back, I’m so grateful for that leap of faith I took 10 years ago.

This journey has been one of the greatest adventures of my life, and I’m thrilled to celebrate this milestone with everyone who has been part of it.

Here’s to the next 10 years of TSP EVP!

With love and gratitude,

Hannah.
