Our Favourite Smoothie Recipes for Summer

Four Smoothie Recipes for Summer

Summer is well and truly here with the weather already hitting the high numbers. And we couldn’t be happier. Sweaty yoga and pilates classes should always be followed with something wholesome to eat. And as summer settles in, we love reaching for a cooling and nutritious smoothie. They’re delicious and very helpful in increasing vegetable and fruit intake. Here are some of our favourite from health and wellbeing bloggers and authors.

Kiwi & Ginger Smoothie from Jessica Sepel

Green smoothies are always a favourite and a sneaky way to increase your daily dose of fruit and vegetables, especially with the kids. This recipe from nutritionist Jessica Sepel includes both kiwi fruit and spinach for a double hit. Plus it’s packed with antioxidants and vitamin C thanks to the kiwi and the ginger. Kiwi is also great for your stomach.

Low-Sugar Acai Bowl from Lilian Dikmans at Real Food Healthy Body

Acai bowls are a crowd favourite. But sometimes without realising it we’re eating a lot of sugar at breakfast time. This recipe from Muay Thai fighter, model, and blogger Lilian Dikmans cuts the sugar and even adds some vegetable to the mix. Try to make sure you buy the unsweetened acai to make this delicious recipe.

Peanut Butter Smoothie from The Holistic Ingredient

Sometimes we need peanut butter. And that’s ok. This hearty smoothie is packed with peanut butter, yoghurt, and protein powder to keep you feeling full and satisfied. Also great post-workout.

Fountain of Youth Smoothie from I Quit Sugar

Sarah Wilson and the I Quit Sugar team love to pack as many vegetables and low sugar fruits into a recipe as they can and this one is no different. It’s a combination of grapefruit, strawberries, avocado, parsley, and mint. A very refreshing, light, and nutritious smoothie for the warmer months that are coming.
